There are plenty of reasons you can’t get rid of your acne. Once you have an idea of why you can’t get rid of breakouts, you can make the changes necessary to finally break free of acne once and for all. Acute or persistent cases of acne should always be seen by a dermatologist for proper treatment.
In the meantime, here are some of the reasons you can’t get rid of your acne:
TOUCHING YOUR FACE FREQUENTLY
When you touch your face, chances are you are transferring germs, dirt and bacteria to your skin. This can clog pores and keep acne from clearing up and getting better. Make an effort to keep your hands away from your face at all times. Always keep in mind to wash the hands first with soap before washing your face.
USING THE WRONG PRODUCTS
If you have acne prone skin, the right products are a must. In fact, using the wrong skincare items is one of the biggest reasons you can’t get rid of your acne. Choose products that are non-comodogenic. They will keep pore open and not block them. Since clogged pores are one of the biggest contributors to acne, it really pays to make sure you are doing your best to keep them clear and clean. Look for facial cleaners, lotions and cosmetics that are designed for acne prone skin. if you use a lot of makeup products and tend to be with it on your face for more than 3 hours, switch to water based products.
MESSING AND FIDGETING WITH YOUR ACNE
It’s tempting to pop pimples and try to make your acne look better with make-up and other stuff. Resist the temptation. Touching acne or messing around with it trying to make it look better can backfire on you by transferring the germs and bacteria around your face, which will only make acne worse. Plus, popping the acne can leave behind serious stubborn scars, both on the face and your mind!
SELF TREATING
We always head up to OTC medications (over the counter) for any skin problem. For some cases of acne, over the counter products and self-care works fine. That’s not the case for everyone though. If your acne gets worse or you can’t get it to lighten up a little bit, you should make an appointment with your dermatologist right away.
SKIPPING EXFOLIATION
You don’t have to exfoliate your skin every day, but it’s important to do so at least once or twice each week. Exfoliating your skin helps rid it of icky stuff that can clog pores. It also helps slough off dead skin cells that can get into your pores and cause acne.
Keeping above things in mind, one can certainly get rid of acne with proper treatment.
