Turmeric is a well-known skin and health benefiter and is used in a lot of skin care products and in food. Turmeric makes a great skin care ingredient especially if you have problematic skin and have sun tan. Turmeric is the king of natural skin care remedies and here we are with a recipe for turmeric cream:
Shea butter- Moisturizes skin, heals dryness, and nourishes.
Aloe vera – Soften skin, holds moisture, and works as a stabilizing agent in the recipe.
Jojoba Oil – It moisturizes, protects, treats, and heals skin.
Turmeric- has skin healing property, brightens skin, fights acne, and keep pores unclogged.
Things you need-
- ½ cup melted organic shea butter
- 2 tablespoon commercial Aloe vera gel
- 1 tbsp of jojoba oil or any other oil that is best for your skin
- ½ teaspoon organic turmeric powder or turmeric essential oil – how to make turmeric oil
Mix shea butter and aloe vera gel. Then add in the Jojoba oil and turmeric powder or turmeric essential oil ( how to make turmeric oil at home) and mix. Make sure you are using organic Kasturi turmeric powder as it does not stain.
Toss the cream in a jar and use it as a regular moisturizer on your face, arms, or body.
Caution – patch test before use.
** If you are worried that turmeric will stain your skin then mix turmeric with honey, milk or oil to cut down the staining. Use pure, organic turmeric or turmeric essential oil as it doesn’t leave a yellow stain. If you want to be extra careful not to stain your skin then look for wild turmeric also know as kasturi manjal (curcuma aromatica), which is non-staining and works amazing at clearing acne, fighting wrinkles, removing facial hair growth and adding a radiant glow to the skin . However, it is not edible and should only be used externally.
