Smoothies are great way to gulp down healthy fruits, veggies and seeds in a go. Smoothies are tasty and it is an easy way to add nutrients to your body. They make a great fulfilling breakfast and can also help you lose weight with the right ingredients. We often go overboard with sugary and fattening ingredients but will only have negative or no good effects on your body. If you are trying to lose weight the healthy way, make sure you add weight loss ingredients to your breakfast smoothie.

WEIGHT LOSS SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTSHere are the top weight loss smoothie ingredients that will not only enhance the taste of your smoothie but also make it healthy:

    BANANAS

Bananas are high in fibre that keep you full for longer and help you stay away from junk food. They also increase bloat-fighting gut bacteria and reduce bloating since it is high in potassium as well. Bananas also make a great smoothie base which adds a nice creamy texture and makes your smoothie taste good.

Smoothie suggestion: Simply blend 1 medium sized banana, 2 tablespoons homemade peanut butter, 1 ½ cup almond milk and little honey.

    BERRIES

You can freeze your raspberries, strawberries and blueberries and toss them in the blender whenever you are making a smoothie.  Berries can significantly help you reduce belly fat since they are rich in polyphenols and antioxidants that stop fat from forming. Frozen berries work well since they are easy to blend and add a nice texture to your smoothie.

Smoothie suggestion: Blend together handful of frozen berries of your choice, 1 cup greek yoghurt, ¼ cup milk and honey.

    CHIA SEEDS

Chia seeds make a great weight loss smoothie ingredient. They not only enhance the texture of your smoothie but also make your tummy healthy. They are packed with fibre and protein to help keep you feeling full and satisfied. Chia seeds are rich in healthful nutrients like calcium, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Smoothie suggestion: Blend together 4 tablespoons chia seeds, 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk and ½ medium sized banana. You can add honey or jaggery as a sweetener.

    CINNAMON

Cinnamon is a great weight loss ingredient and I always add this in my green tea. If you do not like green tea, you can still add cinnamon powder in your smoothies. Cinnamon helps reduce glucose levels in the blood that often are responsible for weight gain. It particularly targets fat reduction in the tummy and hip area.

Smoothie suggestion: Blend together 1 cup almond or coconut milk, 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder, 1 tablespoon flaxseed powder, 4-5 berries of your choice and ½ medium sized banana. You can add honey or jaggery as a sweetener.

Apples are one of the best fruits you could have for weight loss. Apple is a super fruit that is high in fibre and low in calories. This means, it will keep your metabolism in top condition and hence reduce fat deposits.

Smoothie suggestion: Blend together 1 whole apple, any other fruit like papaya or pineapple- 1 cup diced, 1 cup coconut water and 1 medium sized banana. Add a sweetener of your choice if needed.

    PEARS

Pears are rich in fibre, which means it helps you feel full for longer and aid in weight loss. It is high in potassium which lowers your cholesterol and keeps your heart healthy.

Smoothie suggestion: Blend together 1 cup diced pear, 1 cup fat-free yoghurt, 1 peach and soy milk just to adjust consistency. Add a sweetener of your choice.
