    People don’t always lookout for weight loss; those who are naturally lean or thin need to gain weight. Some people are overweight and actually want to lose weight, but not all success even after working out! The secret to a healthy body lies in your diet. There are a lot of veggies that actually make you gain weight, and can be a culprit behind your weight gain. Below is a list of veggies you may incorporate in your diet if you want to gain weight, and avoid if you want to lose weight:

    VEGETABLES THAT MAY CAUSE YOU TO GAIN WEIGHTPOTATOES

    We all know potatoes are a great source of starchy carbohydrates. Excess of carbs leads to storage of fats that d not get used up! Potatoes being high in starch or carbs lead to storage of fat and hence weight gain! Avid or limit the consumption of potato fries, potato chips, all things potato!

    GREEN PEAS

    A good source of protein, and they’re especially high in fiber, which helps with blood sugar control and prevents constipation. Along with the good, peas also have some bad properties that make you gain weight- high carbs! Peas have high carbs as compared to other veggies. A cup of canned green peas, for example, contains whooping 16 grams of net carbs! Limit peas intake to keep your weight under control.

    PUMPKIN

    Pumpkin falls in the category of starchy vegetables and starchy foods are responsible for weight gain. Starch gets converted to glucose and glucose is primary to fat storage and weight gain. Limit pumpkin in your diet and you should be good. Cleansing and Weight Loss Drinks

    YAMS

    Yams just like potatoes and pumpkin are high in calories and starch content. Like I mentioned earlier, starchy food are primary source of carbs that lead to fat storage thus weight gain.

    ZUCCHINI

    Starchy vegetables have more calories as compared to non-starchy veggies and zucchini is one of them! It is considered healthy but only in limited or moderate quantities. One serving of this starchy vegetable provides approximately 80 calories, versus a single serving of non-starchy vegetables that has a minimal 25 calories.

    CORN

    Corn is a well-known food that is rich in starch! In fact, corn starch which is actually corn flour is available commercially to thicken soups and gravies. Like I mentioned earlier, starchy food are primary source of carbs that lead to fat storage thus weight gain. Have corn and corn starch in limited quantities or in moderation to prevent unnecessary weight gain.

    BEETS

    Beet is low in fat and sodium while this cholesterol-free root vegetable is high in fiber, vitamin C, foliate and potassium. Apart from all the good, it is also high in calories and can increase your quota of daily calorie intake thus leading to weight gain.
