How to get rid of fruit flies easily and effectively

Fruit flies are really difficult to tolerate. It is such a pain to deal with these little tiny creatures. They have a life span of 8-10 days, however they reproduce at a massive speed. They are attracted to fruits and vegetables that are fermenting or are rotten. Can you believe that fruit flies do not have a taste of their own. It is their nostrils that help them in landing up to the fruits and vegetables.

We cannot be a watch guard to them, neither can we spray chemicals on the fruits to prevent them from landing on out greens. However, the following are some of the natural remedies to deal with these tiny creatures:

How to get rid of fruit flies easily and effectively

Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple Cider Vinegar is an end result of fermented apples. Fruit flies are attracted to the fermented products, here is your chance to teach them a lesson. Take half cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and heat it up. Pour the heated liquid in a glass jar. Place a dish soap in the jar, such that the flies get glued to it and unable to fly when they are done with tasting the fruit. Roll up a piece of paper and fold it in a funnel shape and place it at the mouth of the jar. You can also drop a ripe fruit in the jar to tempt the fruit flies. The flies will get inside the jar, but will get lost during their return journey. The flies will be attracted to the odor of the vinegar and will enter the jar. They will slowly drool down in the liquid. You can also place the jar in the freezer once the fruit flies are inside it. They will naturally die ue to the temperature.

Fruit Flies Trap: Trap the flies in their style. Let the fruits do the trick. Place some of the ripe fruits in a glass jar. Let the jar be covered with a transparent plastic sheet or wrap it with a polythene cover. Make some holes in the wrap with a toothpick or a pen. Place the jar in a place where you experience more fruit flies. The flies will be drawn to the jar and will soon be trapped inside the jar. They will be unable to find out the exit point. Once the jar is full of fruit flies, submerge the jar in a bucket of warm and soapy water. Let the glass jar be there for 30 minutes. The fruit flies will no longer survive. Clean the jar and repeat the procedure whenever you have to deal with these tiny creatures.

Milk Trap: This is the most simplest and effective one. It has been in existence since the ancient times and has been used vividly in England since 1850 do get rid from the fruit flies. Take 1 cup of milk and add 1 tbsp of raw sugar and 1 tbsp of ground pepper to it. Stir it and allow it to shimmer for 15 minutes. Take it off from the stove and pour it in shallow dishes. You can use the dishes as per your requirement. Place these shallow dishes in the corners of the houses or the areas which are prone to fruit flies. The fruit flies will be attracted to the mixture and will die gradually due to suffocation. You can add a dish soap if you find that the insects are flying away.
