We care for skin, hair and health and often neglect our nails! Nails can face issues like yellowing and staining due factors like poor diet and using dark nail polishes for a longer period. Stained nails can easily be corrected/whitened using a simple home ingredient- hydrogen peroxide and below is how you could do it:
BENEFITS:
- Hydrogen peroxide has bleaching properties that gently lifts off any stain from nails and whitens it visibly.
- It also has anti-microbial properties that helps prevent/treat nail fungus.
- Non-toxic and gentle on the nails.
- It also acts as a gentle cleaner for nails.
WAYS TO USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE FOR NAIL WHITENING:
Diluted hydrogen peroxide- In a bowl, add 3% hydrogen peroxide and equal quantity of water. Stir and soak your nails in it for 15 minutes. Gently brush your nails with a soft and clean toothbrush and follow with a good moisturizer. Do this once daily (if required) until you are satisfied with the results.
Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda- Add 3 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Add in water and make a paste. Apply this on your nails and let it sit for 3-4 minutes. Wipe off and moisturize. Do this once daily (if required) until you are satisfied with the results.
**Caution
Make sure to use only 3% hydrogen peroxide. Apply moisturizing lotion before using hydrogen peroxide, if you have very dry and brittle nails.
