But, aren’t treatments and products that promote fast growth expensive? You are not even sure of their effectiveness and end up buying such products and burning a hole in your pocket. Why would one want t waste money when you can have natural treatments at home itself? Homemade hair oils can effectively make your hair strong and promote hair growth. Here are some popular recipes:
Things you need: You need 1 cup coconut oil, 1 teaspoon aamla powder and 1 teaspoon fenugreek powder.
Method: Keep coconut oil on medium flame for 5 minutes until it gets hot (not cracking hot). Add aamla powder and methi leaves powder in it and put a lid. Put off the flame after 3-4 minutes and steep for 1 whole day. Filter the oil and store in a bottle. Use it before hair washing. Massage into the scalp and hair and put a shower warm towel over it. wash off using shampoo after 2-3 hours. Repeat every week.
LAVENDER HAIR OIL RECIPE:
Things you need: You need few lavender springs and 1 cup olive oil.
Method: To make your own fresh lavender oil, take some olive oil in a bottle, drop in a few lavender sprigs, ensure they are submerged within the oil and keep in a dark place for a month or so. Massage a little of this oil daily onto your scalp and leave overnight. Wash your hair the next morning using a gentle, herbal shampoo.
CURRY LEAVES HAIR OIL RECIPE:
Things you need: 2-3 bunches of curry leaves and 1 cup coconut oil
Method: Take curry Leaves and remove all the leaves from stem and wash them with water. Allow them to dry in the shade so that there is no water content. After the leaves are dry grind the curry leaves to a powder. Pour a cup of pure coconut oil into a pan and heat the oil in low flame. After two minutes add curry leaves powder to the oil and boil for some time, preferably till the green colour of the paste becomes dark .Switch off the flame and allow to oil to cool. Filter the oil and pour into a bottle. Homemade herbal oil is ready!
BASIL HAIR OIL:
Things you need: You need 1-2 bunches of Tulsi (basil) leaves (enough to make 10 tsp. of tulsi paste), 1/2 cup Coconut oil and 1-3 Fenugreek grains.
Method: Cut and grind 1 or 2 bundles of tulsi leaves into a paste and transfer it to a pot. Add coconut oil to the paste and keep on medium flame after combining well. When the mixture is heated add 1-3 fenugreek grains. Wait for seeds to pop (its ok even if they don’t, keep it for atleast 10 minutes). Strain the oil and store in a container. Use 1 hour before hair washing with gentle massaging.
HIBISCUS HAIR OIL:
Things you need: 1 cup coconut oil or almond oil, 5 fresh hibiscus flowers and few leaves too.
Method: Chop flowers and leaves into small pieces. Add 1 cup of your coconut/almond oil to it. Mix well and heat it in low flame. Now when the fumes starts coming add three leaves of tulsi if you have (optional). Turn off the flame after 5 minutes and let it cool. Strain and store in a bottle. Use as a night treatment or apply 1 hour before hair washing.
