Do you have to keep those tissues handy every time to wipe off that excess secretion of sebum that leaves you with an oily skin? If your answer is yes, then it is time you put an end to your worries to rest. There are a handful of simple solutions from the treasure trove of the age-old Indian traditional medicine, Ayurveda, which are effective in absorbing the excess oil from the skin. Once the oil disappears, you skin will look radiant and glowing.

5 EFFECTIVE AYURVEDIC REMEDIES FOR OILY SKIN

Here are those simple, yet fabulous remedies. The good news is that you might find most of the ingredients in your kitchen itself! So, are you ready to treat your oily skin to some nourishing delights?

Sandalwood Powder and Turmeric Mask :

Sandalwood has the potential to absorb the excess oil from your face while turmeric works as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent. Add a little water or lemon juice, depending on the concentration of oil.

In a small mixing bowl, add 1 tsp of turmeric and a tsp of sandalwood powder. Add water enough to make a paste of spreadable consistency. Apply liberally on your face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Dab dry using a clean, soft towel. 5 DIY tumeric masks for clear skin >>

    Neem Toner:

The benefits of neem leaves for oily skin that is prone to pimples and acne are well-known. A powerful treasure trove of antiseptic and antibacterial properties, neem also helps in keeping the levels of sebum secreted under control, thereby easing oily skin troubles.

Add 2 Tbsp neem leaves to boiling water and boil for 5 to 8 minutes. Allow the water to cool. Wash your face daily with this water. Allow to dry naturally.

Neem and Tea Tree Essential Oil:

You can also make use of neem powder to prepare a face mask that eases your oily skin woes.

Add 2 tsp of neem and ½ tsp of turmeric powders to a mixing bowl. Add water and make a paste of spreadable consistency. Add few drops of tea tree oil and mix well. Apply on cleansed face and wait for 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Best oils to treat acne >>

    Honey And Lemon:

While honey moisturizes the skin, lemon works as an effective oil absorbent. Both the ingredients have antibacterial and antiseptic properties as well that helps in warding off the oily skin issues.

Briskly mix 1 tbsp of  lemon juice and 1 tsp of honey. Apply this mixture evenly on cleansed face. Wait for 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Using a clean, soft cloth, dry off excess water, if any.

    Indian Gooseberry:

Amla is packed with a good dose of antioxidants that help in warding off the free radicals and eliminate the toxins and pollutants. It also helps in absorbing excess oil and clear the skin.

Soak 6 amla in water overnight. Strain the water and use as face wash. Crush the amla and mix it with rose-water and apply it on face. Rinse off after the pack dries.
