We all love relaxing on the beach, but did you know that the beach provides countless health benefits, as well? Simply by throwing on a swim suit and driving to the shore, you can help improve your acne, skin smoothness, dandruff, brain strength, and more- thanks to salt content in sea water! You need not always go to the beach to get these benefits, you can use homemade salt water as well. Here are the top benefits and uses of salt water for skin and hair:
BENEFITS AND USES OF SALT WATER FOR SKIN:
SALT WATER FACE STEAM
Salt water can be used to steam your face and open up the pores. Boil 1/3 cup of dead sea salt in a small pan of water and pour the solution in a bowl. Now cover your face with a towel, hold it over the steam for about 10 minutes.
You can mix a table spoon of dead sea salt in your bath water to have a relaxing bath. Bathing in rock salt water combats water retention, soothes sore muscles, regulates sleep, detoxifies your body and lowers your blood pressure. It also eases stress and body pains.
Salt water has excellent cleansing properties. It can cleanse your skin pores better than any soap or cleanser and makes your skin breathe easily. You can mix ½ tablespoon of dead sea salt in 3 tablespoons water; then mix it with your cleanser or face wash and rub your face with it for a glowing skin.
TONER FOR OILY SKIN
Salt water can be used to reduce facial oiliness. For this purpose, fill a small spray bottle with tepid water mixed with 1 teaspoon sea salt and mist on your face. Be careful to avoid your eyes. This acts as a skin toner, keeping your skin oil-free and refreshed all day long.
Salt water can help reduce the under eye puffiness and wake your eyes up. For treatment of puffiness of eyes, lie on your back and apply pads soaked in a solution of one teaspoon organic salt and hot water.
