Stretch marks are something you would never want to see on your skin. Unfortunately, we can hardly avoid these ugly marks at times, especially when you gain or reduce weight. Stretch marks usually appear during puberty and pregnancy. While some of them fade naturally, others refuse to leave. Olive oil is an effective option for treating stretch marks. Packed with healthy fats and antioxidants, olive oil is an excellent nourishing and moisturizing agent for the skin. Here are some ways to use olive oil to get rid of stubborn stretch marks:
STRETCH MARK OIL
Make a mixture using half a cup of cocoa butter, one tablespoon of olive oil and two teaspoons of grated beeswax. Heat this mixture until the beeswax melts. You can store the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator and apply it to your stretch marks two to three times a day. This mixture will make your skin more hydrated and smooth.
MASSAGING
Olive oil contains a lot of nutrients and antioxidants that help improve various skin problems including stretch marks. Massage slightly warm extra-virgin olive oil into the affected skin area. This will improve the blood circulation and reduce the stretch marks to a great extent. Leave it for half an hour so that the vitamins A, D and E present in the oil are absorbed by the skin.
SCRUB
White sugar is another item that can get those stretch marks off your body when combined with olive oil. The best way to use this is as an exfoliator. Take a spoonful of white sugar crystals and add some lemon juice and olive oil. Apply it on the marks and rub it gently like a scrub for about 10 minutes. Doing this regularly for a month will really make those unwanted stretch marks lighter and they will disappear eventually.
OLIVE OIL HEAT TREATMENT
Spots, is also effective in case of unwanted stretch marks and makes them fade away fast. Rub some olive oil onto the area and gently massage for about 10 minute. Wrap the area using a cloth, preferably cotton. Using a hot water bottle, apply some heat to the area for a couple of minutes on a daily basis. You will notice positive results after a month of this practice.
ALMONDS+OLIVE OIL
Soak raw almond in milk until it is soft. Next, crush them to smooth paste along with milk and add 2 tablespoons olive oil to it. Blend well and (consistency should be thick). Apply onto the area. Leave it to dry and then rinse it with plain water. Apply almond oil at bedtime so that your skin gets sufficient time to absorb it. Daily application will fade your stretch marks to a large extent.
OLIVE OIL+ALOE VERA
Combine half a cup of extra virgin olive oil with equal amount of aloe vera gel. To further enhance the healing property of the mixture, add a tablespoon of vitamin E oil and one teaspoon of vitamin A oil to the mixture. Apply the mixture on the stretch marks every night.
