If you ask me my favourite makeup product in my makeup vanity, it would none other than my mascara! Applying mascara is an essential step in every makeup routine. Mascara helps open your eyes by curling and lengthening the lashes; this inturn gives you a dove-eyed look. Here are some mascara hacks that will give your eyes an extra oomph:
USING MASCARA WAND HORIZONTALLY
Using the mascara wand horizontally will give you the most coverage if you evenly apply to every lash. Just hold your brush horizontally and flat at the lash line. Stroke it straight up. Start at the base of your lash to get the most thickness at the bottom, and then wiggle it upwards, making it finer toward the ends.
COAT BOTH THE SIDES
For a thicker and fuller look, coat your lashes on both the sides that is inner and outer sides both. Coat both sides of your lashes by first looking down and coating the backs of your lashes, and then looking up and sweeping the brush upward from below. This will not only make your lash thicker and fuller, but will also give it a good curl and lengthen it as you go up.
WARM IT UP
You might have already tried warming your eyelash curler to give your lashes a long lasting and visible curl. Well, you may try this on your mascara wand as well. Just make sure you are using good quality mascara. Hold the mascara wand under the nozzle of a blow-dryer for a few seconds just before using it on your lashes.
BEND THE BRUSH
This might give you a temporary pain in the heart but trust me, its worth it! Bending your brush can help you reach those hard to reach corners and also give it a good curling path. You may straighten the brush once you are done using.
LAYER WATERPROOF ON WASHABLE MASCARA
I always find it tough to remove my waterproof mascara with soap and water, but thanks to coconut oil for making my work easier. I always wished I could remove my waterproof mascara using just soap and water, but hey, it is now possible! Try applying your regular washable mascara first and then a coat of waterproof mascara.
BABY POWDER FOR THICKER LASHES
This is a well known trick for making your lashes thicker and prominent. Baby powder can make your lash thicker and darker. Apply a single thin layer of mascara first. Before it completely dries, apply baby powder on it using Q-tip. Next apply a second coat of mascara and let it dry. You are done!
REUSE OLD WANDS
If you love mascaras, you probably have a lot of old mascaras and maybe, ready to be tossed in the dustbin. But wait! You need to get hold of an old good wand and reuse it. Wash off the wand brush using a makeup remover (Soak it in the makeup remover) and then soap and water and you may use it to separate lashes after you are done applying your mascara. Just use it like your regular mascara wand.
