Hibiscus is a well-known hair care ingredient in Ayurveda and is used in a lot pf Ayurvedic hair recipes. If you are someone who loves natural remedies and want to improve the texture, health and growth of your hair, below is a hibiscus hair oil recipe you need to try:
Hibiscus flowers- Has hair growth properties, strengthen hair follicles, prevents hair greying and also reduces hair breakage. Hibiscus coats your hair and prevents frizziness, adds a healthy shine and makes hair manageable.
Coconut oil- Moisturizes, nourishes and hydrated hair and scalp. Strengthens follicles and boosts hair growth.
Vitamin E oil- Has hair and scalp moisturizing properties. Boosts hair growth and also works as a preservative in the recipe.
Things you need-
- 1/2 cup organic coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vitamin e oil
- 3-4 fresh and washed hibiscus flowers
In a jar, add hot (slightly more than warm) coconut oil and itain e oil.
Add in fresh hibiscus flowers (after removing the stigma) and let it infuse overnight. Make sure you place the oil in a warm place.
Strain the next morning and apply it on your hair and scalp 2-3 hours before shampooing.
You can also make a bigger batch and keep the flowers infused in it. The oil does not go bad under normal weather conditions but in case of humid climate, it can facilitate growth of fungus or mold, in that case use up the oil within 5 days of preparation and store it in a cool and dry place.
