Cavities are one of the most common dental problems. They are caused when specific types of bacteria produce acids that destroy the tooth enamel including the underlying layer. Tooth decay or cavities can cause pain after a certain period of time when the cavities become deep; this may require root canal. There are several remedies and ways to reverse cavities and heal them, but only after you follow the below remedies routinely:
Turmeric can not only heal cavities but also give you relief from the pain. Fill the cavity with turmeric powder and also apply the powder on the area around it. Let it sit for 30 minutes and do this once every day.
Clove is the patented oral care (pun intended!) ingredient and can help cure a number of dental problems. Clove has anti-bacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Not only will it stop the pain, but also help heal the cavities. Apply some clove essential oil on the cavity every day before you sleep and let it work overnight.
CONSUME MORE CALCIUM
To heal cavities, it is essential to increase calcium servings. The easiest way to do that is to consume more dairy products, like milk, cheese, and yogurt. Calcium also helps in remineralisation of teeth. With consultation from your dentist, you can also take calcium supplements.
SAY NO TO SUGAR
If you want your home remedies to work, say ‘no’ to sugar! Sugar demineralizes the structural content of teeth. Sugar is also a great fodder for oral bacteria and it also prevents the flow of essential dental fluids.
Oil pulling is recommended first thing in the morning, every day for two consecutive weeks, in order to rid your mouth of any bacteria or infections. It helps detoxify your mouth. Simply swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes and spit the oil into the trash. Oil pulling cleans your cavities and prevents further bacterial growth. Coconut oil also helps mineralize your teeth.
Garlic is antibacterial and is recommended for tooth problems since long. Apple a paste of 2-3 garlics and ½ teaspoon rock salt and apply it on the cavities. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat 3-4 times a week or more depending on the severity of your cavities.
Wheatgrass has anti-bacterial properties which help fight tooth decay and also heal cavities. You can chew some wheatgrass slowly and thoroughly. You may also swish wheatgrass juice in your mouth for 5 minutes and spit it out. Do this 2-3 times a day until you see the cavities lessening.
- Eat cheese daily to obtain relief from the problem of cavities.
- Avoid foods and drinks with refined sugar as they can create plaque.
- Chew sugar-free gum to stimulate the production of saliva and make your teeth strong.
- You can also apply nutmeg oil directly on your teeth using cotton swabs.
