Flavorful Mint Green Tea Recipe

Mint green tea is considered as a traditional symbol of friendship and warmth in Morocco. Apart from its immense health benefits, the magical aroma and the light sweet taste of the beverage makes it highly popular throughout the country as well as the whole world. I‘ve added a twist to this recipe by using tulsi-flavored green tea. It makes the concoction even more flavorful.

Tips:

  • Tulsi-flavored green tea is my personal preference. It makes me refreshed like nothing else. But you can use any other flavored green tea of your choice too.
  • It is always good to go for organic green tea as it is much healthier than its non-organic counterpart.
  • Try to pick short mint sprigs that have lesser stem and more leaves. Also, they must be absolutely fresh.
  • Sugar is essential in this tea recipe. If you want to skip it, just go for sugar cubes.

Ingredients
  • Green tea (tulsi-flavored) – 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh mint leaves – a handful
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon or as per taste
  • Water – 1(1/2) cup
Instructions
  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add tulsi-flavored green tea leaves to a teapot. Pour (1/2) cup of boiling water into it.
  3. Allow the tea leaves to soak into the water for 30 to 45 seconds. It will help them open up and release the aroma.
  4. Swirl your teapot once to rinse the leaves and strain the water carefully. You may discard it.
  5. Now, add fresh mint leaves to the teapot.
  6. Also, add sugar to it.
  7. Pour rest of the boiling water into the teapot and cover it with the lid.
  8. Let the ingredients soak into the water for 5 to 7 minutes.
  9. Strain the tea into the cup and then, pour it back immediately into the teapot.
  10. Repeat the last step for thrice or more so that the sugar gets dissolved into the concoction completely and it develops the aroma of green tea and mint fully.
  11. Enjoy!
