Wooden furniture looks better than any other type of furniture because it gives a touch of luxury. Also, wooden furniture last really long, provided they are taken care of. Also, wooden statues, pots, pieces of show, utensils too can have scratches and can make them look unattractive. It often requires a professional to repair it especially if the scratches are severe and deep. You certainly wouldn’t want to spend on professional help for minor scratches. So, here I am with some DIY methods to repair minor wooden scratches:
Olive oil+ Coffee- In a bowl, take some warm olive oil and add in instant coffee powder. Let it sit for 30 minutes and stir. Take a cloth and dip a small section into the coffee oil and use it to buff the scratches. This method can be done for wood that is dark brown in color.
Apple cider vinegar+ Olive oil- In a bowl, take 1 cup of olive oil and ½ cup of apple cider vinegar. Mix it well and dip a small section of a rag or cloth into the oil-acv mixture and use it to buff the scratches. You may also use canola oil instead of olive oil.
Petroleum jelly- Smear petroleum jelly over a scratch and leave it overnight. It might help the surrounding wood to plump up and fill in the scratch. Wipe away in the morning and polish the surface. More: Tricks to remove scratches from furniture >>
Face cream- If the scratches are very minor, this trick could work. Take some thick face cream on a buffing cloth or wash cloth and buff it onto the scratches. Wipe off the excess. More: How to fix scratches in wooden furniture >>
