If you are a regular makeup user, you probably need to wash your makeup tools on regular basis. Not cleaning your makeup tools on regular basis could facilitate bacterial growth and when you reuse the makeup tools, you transfer all of that nasty stuff onto your skin.
This can lead to blemishes, acne, bumps and other skin issues. There are a lot of makeup brush cleaners in the market but you can make it at home too! Below are some easy tricks to cleanse your makeup tools:
BENEFITS:
White vinegar is a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent that inhibits bacteria and fungus on the brushes and other makeup tools.
White vinegar also is a great cleansing agent used for skin, hair and laundry and it works equally well in cleaning the bristle bristles and sponges.
HOW TO CLEAN DIFFERENT MAKEUP TOOLS:
Foundation sponge or beauty blender:
Take some water in a bowl or water mug and add in a dollop of clarifying shampoo. Now, add in few tablespoons of white vinegar and soak in your beauty sponge or beauty blender for 5 minutes. Rub it in between your palms and squeeze out all the dirty water. Soak it in clean water for additional 5 minutes and squeeze out all the water.
Eyelash curler:
In a bowl, add in ½ cup of water, ¼ cup of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and few drops of liquid soap. Mix everything well and dip a cotton pad in it. Use the soaked cotton pad to wipe your eyelash curler concentrating on the curling rubber pads.
Makeup brushes:
Take a bowl and add in 1 cup of water followed by 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Stir until baking soda is dissolved and add in 2 tablespoons baby shampoo or liquid castile soap followed by 1 cup of white vinegar and few drops of coconut oil. Dip the bristle side of brushes into the prepared cleansing solution and let it soak in for good 1 hour. Scrub the bristles with fingers and throw away the solution. Rinse the brushes with clean water and air dry. Repeat if needed.
