CUMIN TEA
You need ¼ tsp coriander seeds, ¼ tsp cumin seeds, ¼ tsp fennel seeds and 1 ½ cups water. Boil water and add the whole cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds. Let steep for 5 minutes, or until it cools to a comfortable drinking temperature. Strain and serve, discarding the spices.
Coriander seeds support digestion, combat allergies and reduce bloating. Fennel seeds has been traditionally used to stimulate digestive juices, reduce indigestion, prevent gas, and address constipation.
TURMERIC TEA
You need 1 Quart boiling water, 1-2 Tablespoons thinly sliced ginger, 1 Tablespoon thinly sliced fresh turmeric ( or ½ -1 tsp ground), 1-2 teaspoons coriander seeds, 1-2 teaspoons fennel seeds and 1-2 bags (or Tablespoon) green tea. Place all ingredients in a french press, let stand 5 minutes before plunging. Refill press one more time with boiling water. Alternatively, simmer all ingredients together for 5 minutes in a pot. Strain, before drinking.
GINGER TEA
You need grated ginger, liquorice, cloves and black pepper- all ½ tablespoon. Boil 1 cup of water and add all the ingredients to it. While keeping the lid on, steep for about 20 minutes. Now remove all the spices and keep only the water. You can sip this tea all through the day.
FENNEL TEA
You need 1 tsp fennel (Sauf) seed, 1 inch granted ginger and 1 tbsp honey or jaggery. Mildly roast the fennel seeds and grind them to make fine powder. Bring water to boil, add the powder and grated ginger. Shot the heat and close lid for 10 minutes, strain and serve warm or hot. Finally add jaggery or honey whatever you like.
SPICED TEA
You need 1 cup assam tea (or black tea of your choice) 1 Tablespoon black peppercorns, handful of dried orange slices, 1 Tablespoon cinnamon chips and 1 Tablespoon cardamom pods slightly crushed. Combine the assam tea, pepper, orange slices, cinnamon and cardamom in a glass jar. Shake really well. Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 8 oz of hot water. Steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain and enjoy as it is or with milk, cream, honey or sugar.
