Sunburn is the result of over exposure to the sun so care must be taken to protect the skin during summer. However, if sunburn does occur, the pain and inflammation can be relieved by any of the following home remedies that will help treat sunburn overnight:
Apple cider vinegar:
Dilute equal parts of apple cider vinegar with water along few drops of lavender oil. Put it in a spray bottle and use it as a mist on the sunburn area or dab it on several times with a sponge or cotton ball to get rid of the pain and inflammation.
Coconut oil:
Use coconut oil to take the sting out of the burn, and heal it quickly. Massage few drops of coconut oil to nourish and moisturize the skin.
Aloe vera:
Aloe vera is an effective natural treatment for sunburn. Apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel on the affected area to soothe and calm the skin.
Milk:
Make cold milk compresses by soaking a clean cloth in a bowl with equal parts milk, ice cubes and water. Then hold the cloth on the burned area for five minutes.
