We all love to have long, thick, shiny tresses. Most often we keep trying a lot of hair care products in a bid to find one holy grail product which will give us our dream locks. But each one brings some issues with it. Some products make our hair smooth and manageable, but reduces the volume and makes it look limp.
Some cause excessive hairfall and some make our hair dry and frizzy. In this post, I will give you an easy to follow hair care routine will all natural ingredients. In the long term, your hair will feel thicker, blacker and also grow faster.
Pre-poo oil treatment: You can use any of these natural oils – coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil or amla oil. Warm some oil. Part your hair into sections and using a cotton ball apply directly on scalp. Finish off by applying some on the hair lengths too. Massage your scalp for sometime. Leave on for 20 minutes.
Hair pack: Mix some curd, amla powder and methi powder. If you don’t have powders, you can use fresh amlas and methi seeds and blend them in a mixer. Apply evenly all over scalp and hair lengths. Leave on for 30-45 minutes.
Hair Steaming: Take a towel and dip in hot water and wrap around your head. Once it cools, repeat again. Do this for 5-6 times.
Shampoo: To make a simple homemade shampoo, soak some shikakai and reetha in water overnight. In the morning, heat the mixture. When it starts boiling, reduce heat and keep in simmer for 10-15 minutes. Strain and use as shampoo. You can also use the natural shikakai powders that you get in shops. Try to go for organic powders.
Conditioner: You can make a natural conditioner at home with just two ingredients. Blend a ripe banana and honey. Make sure there are no fine pieces in the banana, else it might stick to your hair and become hard to remove. Apply on the lengths of hair, concentrating on the tips. This will help prevent split ends and frizzy hair.
Hair rinse: A final hair rinse while washing your hair helps to give shiny, glossy and smooth hair. You can use tea decotion as a hair rinse. Or you can boil some hibiscus leaves in water and use it for rinsing. This will also condition your hair and reduce frizziness.
After wash scalp treatment: Apply some green tea mixed with rosemary oil on your scalp. This will stimulate hair growth.
Leave in conditioner: You can just apply aloe vera gel to your lengths on damp hair. Or try some coconut milk as a leave in conditioner. This will tame your curls and frizzes.
Hair spray: Just mix some coconut water, rose water and few drops of any essential oils of your choice and fill in a spray bottle. Your natural hair spray is ready to revive dull hair instantly.
Hair serum: You can use a light oil like jojoba oil or just cut open a vitamin E capsule and apply to lengths to make hair shiny and silky.
Anti-dandruff treatment: Boil some neem leaves in water and rinse your hair with it to treat dandruff problems. Also, you can grind methi seeds soaked in water and apply the paste to scalp.
