White sauce is popular and is used in tons of recipes and also as a dip or for garnishing. It ideally contains milk products and isn’t recommended for those who are lactose intolerant and also doesn’t fit into vegan diets. RECIPE FOR VEGAN CASHEW WHITE SAUCE:
Things you need-
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup or handful cashews
- Pinch salt
- Few garlic petals
- Dried herbs
In a bowl, soak cashews in hot water for 30 minutes.
Toss it into the blender and add in herbs, salt and garlic.
Blend until smooth and creamy. You can add in more water depending on the texture.
Your vegan white sauce is ready! Use it in chicken dishes, pastas, salads etc.
You can also add in extra seasonings, onion powder etc. for extra flavor.
If using in desserts or coffee, skip adding garlic and herbs and opt for maple syrup or honey.
