Burns on the scalp can occur very easily due to prolonged exposure to sun. The most important step during summer is to avoid scalp sunburn by protecting your hair.
Wash: Use a very mild that is extremely gentle on the scalp such as a baby shampoo, or a homemade shampoo with natural ingredients.
Condition: Use a conditioner or apply a small amount of chilled aloe vera gel, leave it on for few mins and rinse off with lukewarm water to add moisture to the scalp, and help prevent the scalp from peeling as bad.
Mask: After a long day in the sun, a hair mask soothes the scalp and conditions the hair.
Soothe: For a good moisturizing conditioner use a DIY natural aloe vera spray that will help soothe and moisturize.
Scrub Away. If you have extreme dry scalp or your scalp starts to peel then use a scalp scrub or a clarifying or exfoliating shampoo. This will get rid of flakes and balance the scalp.
Oil Care: Avocado oil is a great holistic remedy for scalp sunburns. Smooth a drop of oil on your hair and gently massage it into the scalp or simple add a drop of oil to your conditioner or styling cream to condition the scalp.
