Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a great remedy for ingrown hairs or razor burns. Its anti-inflammatory properties work to reduce inflammation as well as the itching sensation which help to reduce the appearance of razor burns. Vinegar also helps in drying up the skin with ingrown hair and brings the ingrown hair closer to the surface. Moreover, the presence of acetic acid in apple cider vinegar helps to curb infections.
- Pour some organic apple cider vinegar into a small cotton ball. If you have sensitive skin then dilute the apple cider vinegar with water in the ratio of 1:1 (e.g. 1 tbsp. ACV to 1 tbsp. water).
- Dab the affected area of the skin with it and allow it time to dry for 10-15 mins.
- Rinse the area off with cool water.
- Repeat 2-3 times a day until the problem has cleared.
The anti-inflammatory properties of vinegar will help take down any redness, and the acidic pH helps eliminate ingrown hairs.
