Hello beauties 🙂 We all love the dark kohl eye look. Eye makeup is very essential as it makes our eyes expressive and attractive and plays a very important role in framing our face. But it is very unfortunate that some kajals/kohls smudge spoiling the entire look, rather it looks tacky! A smudged kohl can make even the loveliest of goddess look like a black-eyes raccoon. There is not a single day I step out of my house without kajal (Maybelline colossal kajal). I usually apply a thick dark line under my eyes and it stays the entire day with no smudging at all.
Smudge-Proof Your Kohl: Read on to know how to make your kajal(kohl) last longer.
- CHOOSING THE RIGHT KAJAL (KOHL):
There are many types of kajal or kohl pencils available in the market, but choosing the right product is a skill. We need to choose a kajal pencil according to the skin type. Oily skinned people tend to smudge the kajal more than dry skinned people. At any case, I would always recommend waterproof matt textured kajal pencil. Though dry skinned people can use gel forms, but they still tend to smudge a bit by the end of the day.
- PREPARATION:
The secret to make your kajal last longer lies in the preparation. It all depends on how you prepare your skin before applying kajal. Fist and foremost, wash your face properly especially if you have oily skin. Apply a matt concealer (if you use) around the eyes followed by a matt foundation/bb cream. Top it up with a translucent powder. This will ensure that the skin is dry and ready for kajal(kohl) application.

- APPLICATION:
How you apply your kajal also contributes in keeping the stroke intact. Always start with a thin stroke followed by layering it in order to widen and thicken the applied kajal. Make sure you apply it with concentration without any mistake because it will be a mess correcting the stroke, and will lead to wiping off the kajal followed by preparation yet another time. Layering the kajal ensures that it wont smudge and be in place, besides it will look even more darker intensifying the look.
- POST APPLICATION TRICKS:
After you have applied your kajal, you can dust little black eye shadow on it. This trick can also be used for a smokey eye look. Instead of smudging the kajal, the smokey eye look can be created by using black eyeshadow and will stay in place all day long. If you like the shiny appearance of liquid eye liners, you can draw a stroke using liquid eye liners on top of kajal. Make sure you dab some translucent powder around the kajal to keep it in place and to absorb any oil/sebum. Complete the look with a mascara and eye shadow of your choice.
These tricks if followed properly will ensure that the kajal stays all day long, especially for oily skinned beauties out there. For dry skinned girls, these tricks would work without any second thought!
