A compact powder is must for me as I have oily skin and it is something I always have along with me to take care of the excess shine on my face. Maybelline recently launched this new compact powder which I will review today. Let’s see how well did it work for me.
My Experience: The powder comes in a slim glossy white compact, it also has a mirror inside along with a good quality powder puff. The packaging looks very sleek and stylish and the mirror inside make it very easy to touch up with. The compact has a very faint fragrance to it, which is not very bothering.
This compact powder is available in 3 shades Pearl, Shell and Coral, I have the second shade Shell which is a medium shade with yellow undertones and hence it will easily match many Indian skin tones. The texture is smooth and not too powdery or soft and does not have fallouts. The powder is fine, it does not have the silkiest texture but it does not feel chalky as well. It picks up nicely with a powder puff or a brush and the application is smooth.
In terms of coverage it is more on the lighter side, it does not cover much but gives an even presentable look on the face even when used alone. I really like the bright and matte look it gives to the skin and it works perfectly to set bb creams, foundations and any other bases. It looks very natural on skin and blends in easily.
On application it mattifies skin instantly controlling any shine. It controls oil on my skin for 4-5 hours easily and after that I feel the need to touch up. For combination to oily skin it will work perfectly but for dry skin or any dry patches on the skin it does emphasize the dryness and it’s best to avoid dusting it over any dry areas of face and moisturize skin well beforehand.
