Simply mix few drops of liquid grapefruit seed extract (or powdered pill mixed in water) with salt water that you use for irrigation. Use the neti pot to irrigate your nose to treat sinus infection or severe cold. It also helps open blocked nasal passage and helps you breathe with comfort.
COLD TREATMENT DRINK
Grapefruit juice is effective against sinus infection and cold. Add 4-5 drops of grapefruit seed extract to 1 glass of grapefruit juice and have it in the morning. This works better than having just grapefruit juice.
WASH FRUITS AND VEGGIES
Grapefruit seed extract can be used to wash your fruits and veggies since it is antibacterial and antifungal and also has cleansing properties. Simply add few drops of grapefruit seed extract to water and soak your fruits and veggies in it for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with plain water.
TREAT TOE-NAIL FUNGUS
Grapefruit seed extract is antibacterial and antifungal in nature which can effectively treat toe nail fungus. Make a foot soak with warm water, few drops tea tree oil and grapefruit seed extract. Soak your feet in it for 20 minutes, rinse and pat dry. Do this once every 2 days until you see the condition improving.
ACNE TREATMENT
Grapefruit seed extract is effective against acne because of its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory action. Add 1-2 drops to your facial oil and massage your face with it. Keep it overnight and wash off in the morning. You can add few drops of this grapefruit seed extract to any of your skin care products like moisturizer, face wash, massage oil, face mask etc.
ANTI-DANDRUFF
Add few drops of grapefruit seed extract to your regular shampoo and massage your hair and scalp with it. Let it stay for 5 minutes before you rinse it off. Take care that it doesn’t get in your eyes since it is acidic and will burn your eyes.
ORAL CARE
Grapefruit seed extract can be used in oral care as well. Since it is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, it can be used to treat mouth ulcers, swollen gums and sore throat.
