Dark nail polishes, can often stain and make your nails slightly yellow. A super easy homemade method to whiten the area underneath your nails is to use lemon.
Lemon Nail Soak
Clean your nails and remove any polish. Take a bowl and Squeeze two lemons. Soak your fingertips in the bowl for about 5-10 minutes. Rinse your hands using warm water, and make sure to apply a hand cream. This can be repeated for a few days if your nails need some extra whitening.
Nail scrub using baking soda and lemon –
Squeeze half of a lemon into a bowl and then add baking soda until you get a nice thick paste-like texture. Then use an old clean toothbrush to scrub your nails with the mixture. Gently rub your fingertips and underneath your nails with a soft toothbrush that has some toothpaste on it. Wash hands and apply a small amount of coconut oil to prevent dry hands. Baking soda works as a gentle exfoliator for cleaning and whitening nails effectively.
Tips –
If you don’t have time to soak your nails then just take a lemon peel and sweep it over your nails, rub some lemon peel back and forth against the nail before you begin a new manicure.
If you happen to have any cuts and scratches on your hands then lemon will really sting but it helps disinfect them as well.
