Packaging: Bio Oil comes in a small transparent plastic bottle with large white screw cap. The bottle is simple yet sturdy and the cap is tight enough. Moreover, it is small in size and hence, can easily be carried in a hand bag during traveling. Being made of transparent plastic, the bottle allows us to see how much oil is left inside. On the other side, the sleek design and comparatively larger opening make sure that we can access the product completely. The bottle comes in a white carton along with a leaflet mentioning the description, ingredients, directions & precautions, benefits and methods of application (including diagrams) of the oil. The surfaces of both the bottle and the carton contain necessary information regarding the oil.
My Take on Bio Oil: I heard a lot about this ‘miracle oil’ and ordered it online to give it a try. Now, I have been using it since last 2.5 months and I’m totally impressed. The oil is very lightweight and does not feel greasy at all. It looks pinkish-orange when seen from outside the bottle. But once you pour it onto your palm, it appears transparent. The oil has a herbal fragrance, which is mild and pleasant. A little amount is enough for the whole face. During winter, I needed only 3 to 4 drops of oil each time to moisturize my super dry face. It needs to be massaged into the skin by moving the fingertips in small circular motion. However, it takes only a few minutes as the oil gets absorbed into the skin quickly.
Though Bio Oil is most popularly known for its amazing efficacy in reducing stretch marks and scars, I can’t say about it as I have none of these. But yes, it improves the elasticity of the skin considerably. Basically, I wanted to check its moisturizing and anti-aging capability. I’ve a dry skin that becomes even drier in winter. Moreover, I wear glasses and it causes my under-eye skin to lose its elasticity. I also had a few pimple marks here and there on my face and I wanted to get an even skin tone by getting rid of it.
Initially, I used it on my clean face every night after proper cleansing. My skin looked and felt hydrated, soft and supple in the morning. Then, I noticed significant differences after 5 to 6 weeks. My pimple marks were almost gone and my skin looked comparatively even-toned. I found that my under-eye skin has gained a little elasticity and a couple of fine lines that I had around my nose also vanished.
Now, it has become a staple in my daily skincare routine. I use it on my facial skin twice daily – once after taking a bath and once before going to sleep. I just love the way it has been improving the elasticity of my under-eye skin. I’ve replaced my regular moisturizer with this oil and am extremely happy with the results. I also use it as a hair serum when my hair feels unruly but I don’t have enough time to pamper it. Though I’m yet to explore other potentials of this oil, I’ll certainly do it in near future.
