However, a lot of bug repellent gels and creams contain unwanted and toxic ingredients that aren’t 100% safe on the skin and can also contain alcohol that further cause skin drying. BENEFITS:
Aloe vera gel- Makes a great gel base, moisturizes skin and leaves behind no sticky residue. Emulsifies well with essential oils (store bought) and has great skin soothing and anti-microbial effects.
Tea tree essential oil and lemongrass essential oil- These essential oils have great bug and insect repellent properties.
RECIPE FOR ALL-NATURAL BUG REPELLENT GEL:
Things you need-
- 1/3 cup aloe vera gel
- 5 drops tea tree oil
- 5 drops lemongrass oil
Directions-
In a bowl, add commercially bought aloe vera gel.
Add in essential oils and mix until everything emulsifies.
Store the gel in easy to use container or bottle.
Rub it on exposed parts before stepping out of the house or before bedtime or as and when required.
