Conventional deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum, that can cause darkening of the skin under the arms as well as the risk of cancer. However, you can make a homemade deodorant that is simple and easy as well as it is all natural.
Coconut oil has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, which can eliminate body odor. It helps to lighten dark armpits and also soften the skin.
To make a natural Deodorant, you will need:
- 1tbsp Organic Baking Soda
- 3tbsp organic Cornstarch or arrowroot powder
- 2tbsp organic Coconut Oil
- 1tsp of vitamin e oil to extend the storage shelf life (optional)
- 5 – 10 drops essential oils of your choice (optional)
Instructions:
Melt coconut oil for a few seconds in microwave. Mix in the essential oil and vitamin e oil. Add in the baking soda and cornstarch powder to the bowl and mix together.
Scoop out the mixture and put it into an empty deo container or container with lid and freeze it to make it solid.
Coconut oil is a great moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated, while the baking soda and the cornstarch will keep the arms odor-free and dry. If you like, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance. It is best recommended to make your own natural deodorant to keep your skin healthy.
