However, mayonnaise is loaded with fat, calories, and salt, making it extremely detrimental to your health. People who are trying to lose weight need to give up on their favorite mayonnaise, but hey! There are a lot of healthy substitutes out there that you can use instead of mayonnaise! Here is a list of the top 10 healthy substitutes for mayonnaise:

YOGURT

Yoghurt is a great alternative to mayonnaise since it looks just like one! If you have a thicker version of yoghurt, you can whip it to get a mayonnaise-like texture. Choose yogurts that are made from low- or non-fat milk in order to limit your calorie consumption. Yoghurt is a healthier option since it is rich in calcium and other nutrients. Mix it with ketchup, herbs, mustard etc. for a flavourful dip or spread.

HUMMUS

Whether you make your own or buy it fresh from the market, hummus is a healthy addition to your lunchtime sandwich. Hummus is great for your health since it is fat-free and good for your thin waist. Aioli is a healthy alternative for mayonnaise and is made from tofu. You can add any spices to it or ketchup for a nice tangy flavour similar to mayo. To make this, combine 1 cup of silken tofu, 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp olive oil, 3 large minced garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp ground black pepper into a blender. Store it in a jar and use it as and when required.

MILK CREAM

Milk cream obtained from full-fat milk can be whipped up to be used in place of mayonnaise. You may also add pinch of brown sugar, little tomato puree, herbs and pepper powder for a tasty spread.
