Creating French Manicure
No need to go to a beauty salon to get it done. Just pick a rubber band from your home cabinet and stretch it across your thumb and first finger to create the French tip. Now paint your nail along the edge of the rubber band and you are done doing the first nail. Repeat this technique on balance nails.

Inventing Nail Colour

Trick 1: Whoever said you can’t invent the nail shades and make one of your own? To do so, put a little bit of eyeshadow pigment in a spoon. Now add clear and transparent nail polish to it. Use a cotton swab to mix the ingredients and use a brush to apply the newly made colour. This is a good chance to tell your friends about your new-found art of exploring fashion and beauty.

Trick 2: To lighten the color of your nail polish then add in a drop of white nail polish, mix well and apply. To darken the color mix in a drop of black nail polish.

Drying Up Nails

Nail polish takes its own sweet time to dry. This can be made faster. All you need to do is soak your nails in a tub of ice water once you are through painting them. The cold water will set the paint and make your feminine nails dry out faster. You can also spray non-stick cooking spray to make the nail polish dry up faster. Keep the spray few inches away from your nail and spray your nails evenly and in a measured way. After waiting for a couple of minutes, wash the residue off your hands to get that neat and clean look on your nails. Ways to dry nail polish faster >>

Making marbled effect

We all have played marbles in our childhood. You can create a similar effect on your nails where all you need is swirled nail polish and a cup filled with water. Pick your first finger and put a tape around your nail to protect your skin. Now fill a small paper cup with water. Choose 2 different nail paint colours and put a drop of each into a cup of water. Take a paper clip and swirl the layers together in order to create the design of your choice. Put your finger in the cup for a few seconds and see to it that the nail is facing the paint layer so that the imprint gets on your nails. Take out your finger from the water once you notice the marbled impression coming up and clean up the nail edges to get a finished look.

Repair Chipped Nail Polish

Quickly cover up chips in nail polish with a coat of glitter.

Prevent Over-Polishing

Trick 1: Protect the skin around your nails by applying petroleum jelly to the edges. Once you’re finished polishing, there will be no extra swipes of nail polish to clean up.

Trick 2: Apply a coat of Elmer’s glue to the area around your nails to catch any mistakes. Peel it off at the end to reveal a perfect manicure.

Avoiding Air bubbles

Air bubble formation in nail enamels is a major problem that ruins our adventures with a nail polish. Just roll your nail polish bottle, no shaking please, if you want to avoid air bubbles. You can hold the bottle between your palms and rub your hands back and forth. This will stir the polish without creating any room for air bubbles.

NAIL HACKS, TIPS & TRICKS - Repair a Torn or ripped NailRepair a Torn or ripped Nail
Trick 1: Patch the torn nail with a tea bag.  Cut a tiny piece of paper from a tea bag just big enough to cover the entire tear, apply nail glue to the paper, then press it on top of the tear. Allow the glue to dry, then gently file the top of the paper so that the nail is smooth. Finish with a layer of base coat, two coats of nail polish, and a topcoat.

Trick 2: If you have ripped off your nail and want a quick fix, all you need is a bottle of nail glue. Before you can fix the nail, you need to make sure that your hands are clean and free of oils. Use warm water and soap to wash your hands or feet. Dry well with a clean towel. Press down the nail so that it is in the same position before it was ripped. Then add a little nail glue across the rip. Press down
on the nail for about a min with firm, even pressure, using a toothpick. Give the glue about 5 mins to dry completely. once the glue is dried the nail will be back together again. Protect it by applying a coat of nail strengthener or a top coat over the entire nail. Let the nail dry completely.  However, be careful when you use a nail polish remover as it can weaken the glue.

Fix a broken nail
