Geared up to wear a swimsuit in the beachy summers? Go ahead but have you done the needful such as shaving off the bikini area? Often one gets tense and afraid in doing so thinking about fear factors such as getting red bumps and skin irritation. However, all you need is a bit of precaution and care when you are doing the shaving in a sensitive area such as this.

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is soften your skin and hair in the private parts. That will happen better by the steam of hot water making the perfect ground for shaving which you can do during or after a shower or bath.

Step 2: Just like we use a new tissue paper each time to wipe off our hands, use a new razor when you need to shave your pubic area. The principle is simple – when a razor goes dull, it will end up irritating the skin and lead to razor bumps. Electric razors are a good alternative for the pubic area that can give a better shave.

Step 3: Now that you are ready to go, use an aloe-based or other moisturising shaving gel when using razor on the pubic area. Since aloe vera is a skin-soother, it will not cause any irritation that happens when you shave with soap.

Step 4: Now start removing the pubic hair in a downward motion. Try and avoid going against the hair growth and instead shave downwards. A very important fact that you need to bear in mind is to avoid stretching out the skin while shaving as this will become a cause of irritation and pain.

Step 5: Once you are through with shaving off pubic hair, it is time to moisturize the area. Apply a generous amount of a moisturizing lotion to the bikini line after you have shaved to keep the red bumps at bay.
