I got a sudden breakout on my face and rashes on skin. That was when I learnt about the side effects of playing Holi, the powder and how by being a little cautious I could have avoided all this melancholy. To cut the story short, I want my beloved readers to stay safe and take care so here are some very useful tips to follow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theindianspot.com\/excellent-pre-and-post-skin-and-hair-care-tips-for-holi\/z829\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7063\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload  size-full wp-image-7063 aligncenter\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 500 400'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"http:\/\/theindianspot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Z8291.jpg\" alt=\"Excellent Pre and Post Skin and Hair Care Tips for Holi\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>The colors that are used during Holi contain harsh chemicals which can easily lead to skin allergies, breakouts and damaged hair. So a pre-Holi skin and hair care regimen is the call of the hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skin:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Pre-Holi care:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coconut oil- 1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Olive oil-1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Castor oil-1 tsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make a mixture of these oils and apply it all over your skin before playing Holi. Do not forget ears and other exposed areas.<\/p>\n<p>Do not forget to use sunscreen all over your face and body \u00a0and avoid putting makeup. You can also make a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/theindianspot.com\/best-beauty-treatments-using-olive-oil\/\">olive oil body mist<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to mist the oil on your body.<\/p>\n<p><em>Post Holi care:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Avoid the use of soaps or face washes as they are alkaline in nature, they will dry your skin. Instead take pure almond oil or coconut oil and massage it on your skin. Then take damp cotton and remove the colors. Once the colors are off take a cold or lukewarm shower and after that moisturize your skin well. This will prevent the colors from settling into the scalp. On the hair you can make\u00a0coconut a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/theindianspot.com\/diy-coconut-hair-spray-for-dry-frizzy\/\">coconut oil hair mist<\/a><\/span><\/strong> to not only protect your hair but also add an amazing shine to your hair.<\/p>\n<p><em>Post Holi care:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>First rinse your hair with slight warm or cold water this will help to wash off the color easily. Use a herbal or mild\u00a0shampoo and conditioner while washing the colors off your hair.
