If you frequently travel by air, you would be familiar with the fact how your skin and health gets affected. Skin gets dry and you might feel a bit sick if the journey is long and if you are not used to it. From bacteria-infested seat pockets to the lavatory’s coffin-like features, air travel has become a haven for germs. Here are some tricks to make your next flight healthier:

"TRICKS

CHAMOMILE TEA

Long flights can make you nauseated or sick. Anxiety is something people often get if they are not used to such long flights. You may have some chamomile tea before your flight and tuck a few tea bags in your carry-on, then ask an airline attendant for hot water to steep it in. Chamomile tea is the best remedy for anxiety and you can add some lemon juice to it if you feel nauseated.

AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE

Hands carry germs from everywhere and anywhere. You touch various surfaces and ultimately your hands become a breeding ground for germs, unless and until you wash your hands using anti-bacterial soap or use a sanitizer. Be sure to keep your hands away from your mouth and face after adjusting the volume on your armrest or anywhere else. Make sure you wash your hands often so that you don’t transfer germs from surfaces or from passengers to you face and end up with acne! You may also carry hand sanitizer just in case.

HAVE LOTS OF WATER

Dry skin and dehydration is a common problem in flights. This is because the air inside the plane is recycled and under pressure and the humidity is usually very low. This can dry your skin, so it necessary for you to have atleast 8 glasses of water few hours before your flight and sip water in between the flights. You will need to carry a bottle of water with you. Having detox water would be the best.

CARRY A MOISTURIZER

Like I mentioned before, air planes have low humidity and this can make your skin dry! Apply a moisturizer before boarding on a flight and carry one travel sized moisturizer along to use it while you are travelling. Dry skin usually leads to acne since skin produces more oil to balance the sebum production.

AVOID ALCOHOL

Alcohol can slightly dehydrate you, which is the last thing you need when you’re stuck in the dry air of a plane. Plus, feeling high is the last thing you would ever want on a flight.

EXERCISE

Make sure to get up at least once an hour to stretch out your muscles. In your seat, perform exercises or do mini stretaches. They will keep the blood flowing and help prevent stiffness.
