I never used a concealer and never thought I needed one. According to me, a high coverage foundation didn’t need a concealer, but I was wrong! After a good online research, I learnt the role of corrective concealers. They come in different shades having specific functions. Since I get occasional pimples and have some redness on the cheeks and around the nose, I decided to go for L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer in the shade Green Corrector which is supposed to neutralize red tones. Here is a review on it:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

With a crease-resistant, opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture, the L.A. Girl HD PRO Conceal in green has a long-wearing formula that camouflages redness and skin imperfections. This blendable and buildable formula provides the ultimate complete and natural-looking customizable coverage.

MY TAKE ON LA GIRL PRO CONCEAL HD CONCEALER- GREEN CORRECTOR

Packaging: The concealer comes in a tube form with brush applicator at the tip. As you apply pressure on the tube, the product saturates the brush and you can apply it on skin. I find using the brush directly on skin (acne) a bit unhygienic since you will be using it everytime so I use my fingers. The screw cap fits perfectly. The compact size and tight fitting cap makes the tube travel friendly.

Texture: The product has a creamy-matte texture just like any foundation and dries in a matter of few minutes after application.

Shade: The green shade is not like pure green but light pastel green I suppose. It perfectly neutralizes the redness and can be layered with a concealer matching my skin tone and then foundation. PERFECTO!!

Fragrance: It does not have any fragrance in particular, but if you sniff it deeply you can smell a really faint chemical smell. You won’t be able to smell it unless you deeply sniff; that too doesn’t last for more than few seconds.

How I use and after-effects: I apply it on pimples if I have any, around the nose and mouth and on the cheeks. I spot apply on pimples whereas blend the rest using PAC mini beauty blenders. After the concealer dries up completely, I layer it with a concealer that matches my skin tone. The face is then ready for your usual makeup routine. If you are using a primer, you may apply it before you start applying the concealer and after sunscreen.

The concealer perfectly hides the redness and does not show any obvious green colour. This is my first corrective concealer so I cannot really comment if this is the best or compare it with other corrective concealers, but this worked really well and did what it claimed.

PROS:

CONS:

None.

PRICE: INR 535

I never used a concealer and never thought I needed one.
