I am back with another Innisfree product! This time it’s a cosmetic product and not skin care. Since I have oily skin I am always attracted to anything that claims water balancing and hydration. Innisfree has a range of foundations for different skin types and I bought the newly launched foundation suitable for combination to oily skin- Innesfree Smart Foundation Water Balancing in the shade true beige-23. Here are my thoughts about the product:

"INNISFREE

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: A lightweight formula which gives natural finish and natural coverage. Feels like second skin and does not clog pores. Jeju minerals and green tea help skin look healthy and alive.

"r711"MY TAKE ON INNISFREE SMART FOUNDATION WATER BALANCING- 23

Packaging: The foundation comes in a tiny sleek tube with screw-open cap. The tube and cap both are cream in colour which looks really sophisticated. The opening is tiny and the nozzle dispenses only the required quantity. The compact size makes the product travel friendly.

Texture: The foundation has a flowy watery texture which is not at all thick. You need to quickly blend it as it dries super quick. A little amount goes a long way thanks to the liquidy texture.

Shade: There are only 3 shades available in this range (rather in all the liquid foundations from Innesfree). Since it’s a Korean brand they have all the lighter shades and I got the darkest shade 23 which is actually very light! I am NC42 and this shade should be NC40, but since it blends well with the skin tone, it suits me well and shows no white cast; but you need to be careful with the amount!

"r712"How I use and staying power: I always use a beauty blender to apply foundations so I tried using it with this foundation too. I dotted my entire face with the foundation and starting tapping my face with the blender. The foundation had already dried partially and wouldn’t blend at all. I then used my finger tips to spread it and it did perfectly. I could see a white cast initially (thanks to the so called darkest shade) but it disappeared after I used my compact powder. I have some dark spots on my cheeks thanks to some old pimples and they were clearly visible! Which means this foundation gives no coverage at all. After 1 hour I could not see any foundation on my face, it looked like I have not applied anything! Since I have oily skin, I always prefer matte finish but this foundation made my face look dewy and I had to blot my T-zone to control the shine. It is so contradictory; my skin felt dry initially but started getting shinier an hour later! This means it does not control oil at all.

I feel the foundation should suit less problematic and normal skin which needs no coverage but only brightness or freshness.
