With all the flying, time zone and climate changes, your skin can easily be brutalized by travel.\u00a0 Whether you’re driving to a family reunion, taking the train for a weekend getaway, or jetting halfway around the world, there’s no question that traveling is stressful. Trying to look good while you’re traveling is pretty much on the top of the stress-o-meter. Travel itself does not lend itself to good skincare routines as this is one of the first things many people give up during a trip away! Well, it is very necessary to take good care of your skin during long flights, and here are the best tips:<\/p>\n

\"WAYSDRINK WATER\/COCONUT WATER<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure you hydrate your skin from within. Do it by drinking plenty of water or coconut water (rich in vitamins), drinking sodas or coffee is not counted. By supplying your body with generous amounts of liquid you will easily combat the dry plane air in the cabin.<\/p>\n

CLEANSE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most expert in-flight beauty routines begin with cleansing one’s face and removing all makeup, so once you reach your flight destination, the first product you should reach for is cleansing wipes! Skin wipes remove all the makeup and prepares your skin to breathe and not clog in really long flights- hence, no acne or blemishes!<\/p>\n

MOISTURIZE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you even step foot on that plane, remove your makeup completely and wash your face. While your skin is still slightly damp, pat on your most heavy duty moisturizer<\/strong>. You could also use a night cream because they’re usually thicker and they keep skin feeling hydrated for a longer time. \u00a0Right before you get on the flight, you should also put on some moisturizer with SPF, since you’ll be extra-close to the sun!<\/p>\n

If you wear hard contact lenses you may experience that your eyes are always dry especially during the flights- and even when on land. Tired eyes = tired face, so help keep your eyeballs happy with some lubricating eyedrops. They will lubricate and soothe eyes if you’re reading or watching a movie, and refresh and wake up your eyes if you nap.<\/p>\n

DAB OIL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Face oils work to add pure moisture and glow back into your skin.\u00a0With clean hands, apply a liberal helping of oil, concentrating on your cheeks, forehead, and chin, making sure to gently massage it into your skin.\u00a0If your skin feels extra dry then use a sheet mask over the oil.<\/p>\n

KEEP HANDS OFF YOUR FACE<\/strong><\/p>\n

To minimize breakouts while you’re on vacation, avoid touching your skin while you travel. You can pick up any number of unknown bacteria that can result in any number of skin problems after you arrive. If you’re going to apply makeup while you’re in transit, You may use an antibacterial hand wash on your hands first to further protect your skin.<\/p>\n

SKIP FOUNDATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Skip foundation on the day of your trip, and instead wear only moisturizer. Before you land, add a tinted moisturizer for a fresh, healthy look. If you just can’t leave the house without some foundation, be sure to put on a primer first- a silicone-based liquid or cream that puts a layer of protection between skin and makeup. It will help foundation and blush last longer and help keep your skin from becoming dehydrated.<\/p>\n
