When we remain outdoors during the daytime, environmental factors like sunlight and dust affect the skin. The traffic and air pollutants also damage the skin. While you sleep, the skin repairs itself and with a little help from you, your skin will become even healthier. A proper nightly skin care routine will help improve your skin tone, make your skin glow, reduce blemishes, and hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. Here I have compiled the best beauty habits one should follow every night:

"BEAUTYBRUSH YOUR TEETH

Once your dinner is finished, make sure to brush and floss your teeth before going to bed. This will help keep your mouth free from germs, cavities and infections. Also, it will help avoid serious morning bad breath. It is suggested to brush your teeth about 30 minutes after having your meal, especially after an acidic meal as brushing immediately after a meal may push the acid deeper into the dentin. Apply a small amount of coconut oil on your teeth and gums to keep them healthy and white naturally.

REMOVE MAKEUP

What women often tend to do is come home, change, wash their face or wipe their face with a wet towel and just go to bed. But what they don’t tend to realize is that this one habit is absolutely wrong! When you return back from an event, party or wedding you need to remove each and every bit of makeup there is on your face so that your face looks and feels fresh when you wake up in the morning. Remove your makeup with a proper makeup remover or you may also use coconut oil or baby oil.

USE 2 PILLOWS

Prop your head up on an extra pillow to prevent puffiness. You can also prop up the head of your bed on 2- to 4-inch pieces of wood. This is a time when gravity helps you with lymph and blood flow so fluids won’t accumulate under your eyes and in your face.

PETROLEUM JELLY FOR FEET

After washing your feet with warm water, pat dry them properly. Then apply some petroleum jelly or a foot cream on dry, rough skin on your feet to prevent cracked heels and make them soft. Cover your feet with socks and then go to bed. If you have time, massage your feet daily at night using circular motions for at least 5 minutes. This will help you relax and sleep better.

APPLY HAND CREAM

To keep your hands smooth and soft throughout the day, you need to take proper care of them at night. Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and mild soap, pat dry with a towel and then apply a hand cream. Use a thick, plain and a little greasy hand cream to keep your hands well moisturized during the night. This will help to your hands and fingernails look their best first thing in the morning. You may also use argan oil on hands.

COMB YOUR HAIR

Before you are going to your bed just comb your hair with a comb which has long teeth for 5 minutes. Comb your hair with a light pressure on your scalp. It will detangle your hair and you can easily manage your hair. It also increases the blood circulation in your scalp and helps in stopping hair fall. This process also helps in hair growth.

TIE YOUR HAIR

Tie your hair before you go to bed preferably a braid or a bun. Try to use a cover to cover up your bun. It will prevent the split ends problem which created from friction.
