A good quality lotion or body butter is all you need to keep the flaky and stretchy dry skin at bay. A moisturizing agent can keep your skin moisturized, no doubt; but for how long?Moisturizing your skin in shower can lock in the moisture and keep your skin healthy and hydrated all day long! Here are some tips on moisturizing your skin in shower:

"MOISTURIZECOCONUT OIL

Coconut oil is known to help reduce scaring, stretch marks and prevent sagging skin. It’s a natural “miracle” oil! Coconut oil when applied after warm bath enters pores and cleanses it along with moisturizing it simultaneously. Slather whipped coconut oil on entire body after using soap or shower gel and wash off with warm water.

SUGAR

Mix sugar in your body wash and use it to exfoliate your skin. While in shower use it in a gentle circular motion to remove dead cells and discourage ingrown hair. Exfoliate once or twice a week to remove the layers of dead skin, leaving you looking healthy and vibrant.

OLIVE OIL

Olive oil works just like coconut oil. If you apply the oil when your skin is still wet after your shower, it absorbs really well. If it’s too glossy, just pat your skin dry with a towel to absorb some of the excess oil.

ROSE WATER+ALMOND OIL+VEGETABLE GLYCERINE

Fill the spray bottle halfway with rosewater. Next, fill it ¾ of the way with sweet almond oil. Top it off with vegetable glycerine and shake! Spray on and rub in as you would your normal moisturizer. Try using it before you towel off from the shower for a super hydrating experience.

HONEY

For soft, smooth skin, slather on some pure honey on damp skin and massage it in. Honey is packed with trace elements that nourish your skin. You will notice a much brighter skin tone, great for sluggish skin especially in winter.

MILK

Milk has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that greatly help get rid of dry and itchy skin. Plus, the lactic acid in milk exfoliates dead skin cells and increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

How to use: Add a few drops of rose water to four tablespoons of milk. Rub this solution all over your body after using soap or shower gel. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse your body with cold water.

AVOCADO

Avocado is packed with fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that help improve skin from the inside. The high vitamin A content also helps in skin maintenance and repair to restore smooth and silky skin.

How to use: Mash the pulp of an avocado into a smooth paste. Rub the paste all over your body. Let it sit on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Repeat the process once daily.

SHEA BUTTER+ALOE VERA GEL+COCONUT OIL

Melt the first ½ cup shea butter and 2 tablespoons coconut oil together in a make-shift double boiler. After it is all melted together, pour into a bowl and let it set up for a while. After it comes back to a solid state, use a hand mixer to whip it up for a few minutes. Add 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and mix thoroughly. Store it in a jar and use as and when required.

How to use: Go about your normal shower routine. Once you are clean, smooth the lotion over your body, and then step back under the water to rinse off. Then get out of the shower and dry yourself as normal.
