"HOTThe hot and humid climate has that extra heat and moisture in it which can make your skin look shiny and sticky by overly producing oil on your skin. This doesn’t mean that you cannot do anything about it; you just need to choose the right products and take proper care of your skin based on the weather. So what steps do you need to follow this season?

Remove Makeup Before Bed

This is the step comes under night routine but not morning routine. You can avoid this in the morning. You can use oil based or cream cleanser for this since these two types dissolve makeup effectively. You can also choose a good makeup remover of your choice. Apply the cream and wait a minute till it dissolves the makeup and then wipe it with damp cotton or a wash cloth.

Cleanse Your Skin Twice

To prevent your face looking greasy, cleanse it well with a good oil free gel cleanser which can dissolve the grease layer on the face. Choose a product with salicylic acid in it if you have oily skin since it exfoliates from within the pores and prevents acne. To avoid dryness of skin choose a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid. Use it twice a day, i.e., in the morning and night to get oil shine free and clear skin.

Exfoliate Twice A Week

Twice a week exfoliate dead skin cells with a good scrub. You can make scrub at home yourself as well but make it oil free. Chemical peels are also available in the market ready to use.

Tone Your Skin This Hot Season

Toning is must in this hot weather. Get tea tree toner since it prevents excess oil, clears clogged pores and prevents acne and pimples. It also restores the lost natural skin pH.

Choose the Right Day Cream Or Moisturizer

If you have oily skin then your skin may get much oilier in this weather. In that case you don’t need to use moisturizer. Your skin naturally produces some moisture. Instead choose a non-greasy formula for your day cream. If your skin is dry then you can use a serum. Sometimes serums do bad than good. So choose a right serum that suits you if you have dry skin. Else you can go for gel based moisturizer. You can keep a day cream and night cream separately.

Sunscreen Is A Must

Your sunscreen should be broad spectrum and have oil free formula. Mineral based sunscreens work best in such hot weather since such formula usually consists of micronized zinc and titanium dioxide which absorbs the oil well. Choose water proof sunscreen as well since it shouldn’t go off when you sweat. Your sunscreen should have a minimum of SPF 15 or greater even if it is cloudy outside.

Facials Every Week For That Excess Oil

You can also help your skin by removing excess oil with facials every week. Exfoliate skin and remove dead skin cells which usually clog pores this season and cause acne. Always use oil free products in this weather and apply clay mask since it absorbs the excess oil effectively. Choose a formula with salicylic acid in it to clear out your skin pores effectively.

Prevent That Excess Oil Mid-Day

You are clearing your face in the morning and in the night but in this humid weather, by the midday your face again becomes oily and greasy. In order to prevent that, use a mattifying product with talc and silicone polymers which absorb the excess oil on the face. Apply it it right before you apply moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup. However lotion and gel mattifiers work best for such a season.
