Mix up 1 ounce Aloe Vera gel, 2 ounces witch hazel, eight to 10 drops of any antimicrobial essential oil listed above (in Aloe Vera and essential oils). The essential oils do the cleaning, witch hazel is antimicrobial and the Aloe Vera gel gives this sanitizer the same gel consistency as commercial sanitizers; besides it is anti-microbial too!<\/p>\n
All you need is just 5 percent vinegar! The vinegar bottles which you get in the grocery store are of that concentration already so you need not dilute it any further. Vinegar is an antibacterial agent that kills 99 percent of bacteria. It’s also nontoxic, non-polluting and edible. You can store it in a small travel friendly spray bottle and spray it on your hands\/palms whenever needed and rub it followed by wiping. If you dislike the vinegar smell, you can combine it with an essential oil of your choice.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>All you need to do is mix up 6 ounces water, 1 teaspoon Aloe Vera gel, 2 drops each of cinnamon, clove, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils and 5 drops lemon (or other scent) essential oil. Cinnamon, clove, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils all have antimicrobial properties and combining those makes the sanitizer more potent against a variety of germs. The Aloe Vera gel is soothing to skin. You can rub it on in between your palm whenever needed.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Combine 10 drops of tea tree essential oil and 1 teaspoon castile soap in 6 ounces water. Tea tree oil is antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. The castile soap functions as a surfactant to dissolve the oil. Tea tree oil can cause irritation if the concentration is too high.
