WAYS TO SPICE UP YOUR CHOCOLATE

Hot chocolate makes a great drink for any season. chocolate can add flavour to almost any drink you mix it up with and is loved by many. A little variation in the ingredients can make an amazing hot chocolate drink for winters. You can add few easily available ingredients to spice up your hot chocolate and they also make a great evening drink during Christmas. Here are some ways to spice up your chocolate:

WAYS TO SPICE UP YOUR CHOCOLATECAYENNE+CINNAMON

Cayenne and cinnamon can be added to your hot chocolate to add a spicy bite to it along with sweet flavour. The kick from cayenne pepper complements the earthy taste of cinnamon. While you make hot chocolate, add 1 teaspoon each of cayenne and cinnamon powder to 1 big mug of hot chocolate. You may also add vanilla to it for added flavour.

PEPPERMINT HOT CHOCOLATE

To make this hot chocolate, you need 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk, 2 peppermint tea bags, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder and raw agave for sweetness. Add the coconut milk along with the peppermint tea bags and the cocoa powder in a small pot. Put it over medium heat stirring it well. Bring to a simmer and remove from the heat. Pour it in a mug and your peppermint hot chocolate is ready! You may add coconut whipped cream over it along with chocolate chips if you like.

MASALA CHAI HOT CHOCOLATE

Masala chai has always been an Indian hot drink for winters and nothing can beat an amazing combination of hot chocolate and steamy hot masala chai! You only need to add 1 teaspoon black tea, cinnamon cloves and cardamom (quantity as per your taste) to 1 bug mug of hot chocolate.

BITTER ORANGE HOT CHOCOLATE

Orange and chocolate has always been my favourite combination. Hot chocolate with a little bit of citrusy orange flavour is an automatic win. You can add a bit of orange juice, maybe 2-3 tablespoons to 1 cup of hot chocolate. Orange peel powder too can be added for that extra flavour; but it can make your drink a bit bitter but it tastes good.

CHILLI SPICED HOT CHOCOLATE

If you have ever had lindt chilli flavoured dark chocolate and liked it, no doubt you will love this chilli spiced hot chocolate as well. You need 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon chilli powder or cayenne powder, 1 ½ cups almond milk, ½ teaspoon vanilla essence and some whipped cream for garnishing. Add cocoa powder, chilli/cayenne powder, 3 tablespoons nutella and vanilla extract to almond milk. Put it on medium flame and let it boil. Turn off the flame once it boils. Let it cool down a bit and add nutella to it. Stir it properly and pout the mixture in a wide mouthed mug. Add whipped cream on the top and little more nutella for garnishing over it. Consume warm.
