TURMERIC FOR COLD & COUGH:
Turmeric is rich in curcumin and volatile oils that have a protective as well as therapeutic action in persons suffering from cough and cold. Haldi also has anti-viral and anti-bacterial activity that can help beat the infection.

CINNAMON FOR WEIGHT LOSS:
Cinnamon is said to catalyse weight loss when consumed regularly.
How to use: Mix 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon with Add a cup of hot water to the cinnamon, let cool. Add a full teaspoon of raw, organic honey to the cinnamon/water mixture after it has cooled. Have it in the morning and evening. This can also be beneficial when consumed before workouts.
BASIL FOR ACNE:
This herb prevents acne outbreaks and also speeds up the healing process of acne lesions. The oil in fresh basil leaves helps clear bacteria from the skin that contribute to clogged pores, a primary cause of acne.

FENNEL SEEDS FOR BLOATING:
Being a carminative, black pepper relieves stomach gas and also helps prevent gas formation.
Remedy 1: To cure indigestion and heaviness in your stomach, add one teaspoon of fennel seeds to 1 cup of hot water. Cover and allow it to steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain it. Have this tea two or three times a day.
Remedy 2: A small amount of the seeds chewed after a meal, help to prevent or treat many digestive problems like gas, bloating and cramps.
HONEY FOR SORE THROAT:
Honey has long been used as a sore-throat remedy. It has antibacterial properties and also acts as a hypertonic osmotic, which means that it draws water out of inflamed tissue. This reduces swelling and discomfort.
Remedy: Add 2–3 teaspoons to a cup of hot water or herbal tea.
GINGER FOR MENSTRUAL CRAMPS:
The prostaglandin hormone is mainly responsible for the menstrual cramps and inflammation during a woman’s period. Ginger lowers pain levels causing prostaglandins and soothes menstrual cramps and calms the stomach.
- Remedy 1: Eat ginger raw or cooked the form of ginger ale, cookies, snacks, or candies.
- Remedy 2: Boil slices of ginger, honey, and a pinch of salt for 4 – 6 minutes and drink twice daily.
- Remedy 3: Steep ½ teaspoon of ginger (either dried powder or grated) in a cup of boiling water for 3 – 5 minutes and drink three times daily for best results.
LEMON FOR FOOD POISONING:
The anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties in lemons can give you much relief from food poisoning. The acid in lemons helps kill bacteria that cause food poisoning.
- Remedy 1: Just add a pinch of sugar to one teaspoon of lemon juice and drink it two to three times a day.
- Remedy 2: You can also sip on warm water with lemon juice to clean out your system.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FOR ACID REFLUX:
Like many home or folk remedies, apple cider vinegar may provide relief from acid reflux for some people, but not for others. Just as you have particular foods that affect you, the remedies may also differ. Apple cider vinegar may provide intestinal protection to prevent acid reflux. The vinegar lowers the blood’s pH levels to help the intestinal system fight harmful bacteria and fungi. Apple cider vinegar may also have some antimicrobial properties.
How to use: Take 2 teaspoons in a cup of warm water several times a day for food poisoning. The antimicrobial action from apple cider vinegar could help avoid intestinal problems that lead to acid reflux.
CUMIN FOR UPSET STOMACH:
The presence of thymol and other essential oils in cumin seeds stimulate the salivary glands thereby helping in the digestion of food. Apart from this, it strengthens a sluggish digestive system.
How to use: Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds to a glass of water and bring it to a boil. Once the water turns brown, turn off the gas and cover the vessel. Allow the decoction to cool down to room temperature. Drink this tea three times a day to improve digestion and to help resolve minor stomach aches. CLOVES FOR TOOTHACHE:
Cloves have been used to treat toothaches since medieval times. The active ingredient in clove oil is eugenol and this treatment is ideal for someone about to undergo a root canal or suffering from dry socket.
How to use: You can simply place a whole clove into your mouth on or near the tooth that hurts, bite down & grind to release the oils, and wait. You’ll know the oil has been released when you sense a bitter taste and a tingling sensation on your tongue and gums. Whether chewing a whole clove or using the oil you will want to spit- don’t. Wait a couple of minutes before rinsing your mouth out with water.
