Popcorn Chicken Recipe: A party perfect snack

The recipe I’m sharing today is simple and chicken snack. This could be perfect for any party, get together, or even you can make this as an evening snack. The crunchy outside and tender chicken inside makes it just delicious.

Ingredients:

To marinate the chicken:

  • Boneless chicken: 300 gm (cut into small pieces)
  • Egg: 1
  • Ginger garlic paste: 2 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp.
  • Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp.
  • Black pepper powder: 1/8 tsp.
  • Lemon juice: 2 tsp.
  • Salt: according to taste

Dry flour mix :

  • Bread crumbs: 1/2 cup
  • Corn flour: 1/2 cup
  • All-purpose flour: 2 tbsp.
  • Salt: according to taste
  • Red chilli powder: optional

Procedures:

To marinate the chicken – 

  • Take a big bowl and place the chicken pieces into it. Add one egg to the bowl.
  • Add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/8 tsp black pepper powder, lemon juice and salt to that bowl and mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a plate
  • Keep the mixture aside for 15-20 minutes.

To make the dry mix to fry the chicken – 

  • In a bowl add the bread crumbs.
  • Add corn flour and all-purpose flour to it.
  • Add salt to taste and mix them properly.
  • You can also add red chilli powder again if you want it to be very spicy
  • Take the chicken and coat them one by one properly with the bread crumb and flour mixture.
  • Here is a trick for you. You can do this easily by one simple process. Place the flour and bread crumb mixture in a large re-sealable plastic bag. and then add the chicken pieces into it. Then sealing the neck of the plastic bag, shake it until all the chicken pieces get coated with the bread-flour mixture.

Deep fry – 

  • Now heat some oil in a large heavy-bottomed pan and add the chicken pieces one by one into the pan when the oil is really hot.
  • Fry them until the colour turns to a golden brown.
  • Remove them from the oil and place them on a tissue paper to soak excess oil from them.
  • Now your crunchy yummy popcorn chicken is ready to serve!
