Things you need-

  • 2 tablespoons sea salt
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Enough olive oil

ADDITIONAL RECIPES YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY:

BAKING SODA ESSENTIAL OIL CLARIFYING RINSE- You need ¼ teaspoon of baking soda, 1 cup warm water and 2 drops of essential oil. Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle or cup. Wet hair and massage into scalp and hair roots. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

BAKING SODA CINNAMON SCRUB- You need 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 tablespoons olive oil and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Mix all ingredients in a small container. Part your hair in small sections and apply the mask down each part on the scalp. Massage the mask into the scalp in a gentle circular motion and cover your hair and scalp with a shower cap for 10 -15 minutes. Shampoo and condition your hair as normal. For an alternative to shampooing your hair, you can finish the detox treatment off with a apple cider vinegar rinse and then condition as normal.

MORINGA OIL- This famous tree oil is popular in the hair industry for being antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal. It not only cleans the scalp but will help in alleviate scalp irritations like dandruff. A quick fix for all hair problems can be whisked away with a few drops of moringa oil blended with coconut oil. You may apply the oil on scalp and hair and massage for 15 minutes. Let it sit for 1 hour and then shampoo as usual.

SUGAR ALMOND OIL SCRUB- Known as a natural exfoliator for dead skin cells, sugar is often used as part of facial masks. It’s helpful for dirty scalps, too. Sugar helps to remove dead cells, relieves an itchy scalp, and can prevent premature hair loss by allowing blood flow to circulate to the scalp, which promotes growth. Mix 1 tablespoon granulated white or brown sugar with 3-4 tablespoons sweet almond oil. Apply this on damp scalp and gently massage till sugar dissolves. Shampoo as usual. BROWN SUGAR OATMEAL SCRUB- Brown sugar and oatmeal gently exfoliates the scalp, provide moisture and increase circulation to the hair follicle. Combine together 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons finely ground oatmeal, and 2 tablespoons cleansing hair conditioner in a bowl. Shampoo hair first to remove any styling products then scoop a small amount in the palm of your hand and work the scrub into your scalp, using a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly.
