Summer is approaching and we are already worried about the damage that it will cause to our skin and hair. There are high possibilities of our scalp getting damaged, if proper care is not been taken. We often use sunscreens on the skin to keep it protected but do we ever pay attention to hair? Hair can get dry, rough and damaged in sun exposure and it is necessary to protect it just as you protect your skin. Below is a recipe for DIY sunscreen hair oil spray:
Coconut oil- Coconut oil has a natural SPF of 4. It also keeps hair moisturized and soft.
Carrot seed oil- Carrot seed oil provides SPF of 30-40 UVB protection. Repairs damage and adds shine.
Myrrh oil- Myrrh oil provides SPF of 30-40 UVB protection.
RECIPE FOR SUNSCREEN HAIR OIL SPRAY:
Things you need-
- 1/2 cup filtered water
- 1 teaspoon organic coconut oil
- 5 drops pure carrot seed oil
- 5 drops pure myrrh oil
In a jar or bowl, add 1/2 cup of water. Add in coconut oil, carrot seed oil and myrrh oil.
Stir and pour it in a spray bottle. Spray it on your hair before stepping out of the house. Can also be used on damp hair to keep hair frizz-free , protected and moisturized.
**Caution: Never use essential oils directly on the skin, always use them diluted. Patch test before using.
