One test for whether you are experiencing belly bloat or have just gained some extra belly fat is through a simple “jeans test.” To take the jeans test, just note whether or not you can fit into a specific pair of jeans in the morning each day when you wake up. Put the jeans away for the day and then later take that same pair of jeans and put it on 12 hours later. If you suffer from belly bloat, the jeans will be significantly tighter at night than they were in the morning. By the next morning the jeans should fit again; however, if not then its fat gained! NATURAL COCONUT WATER

I recommend drinking freshly obtained natural coconut water rather than gulping down the packaged ones or coconut powder. The packaged drinks and powder contains various preservatives and minimal nutrients. Drinks sweetened with natural sugars such as fructose or with artificial sweeteners are fermented in the gut which then leads to increased gas buildup. Coconut water can also be a great alternative to sports drinks. Replacing sports drinks with unsweetened coconut water is a great way to hydrate body without the gas.

LEMON PEPPERMINT DRINK

All you need is 10-15 peppermint leaves and 1 cup lemon juice. You can mix both the ingredients in a motor pestle and add in 1 cup water.

Indigestion is one of the most common causes of bloating. Peppermint improves the flow of bile to digest fats better whereas Lemon adds flavour to this drink so you won’t have to use sweeteners that can also cause bloating.

DE-BLOATING MOCTAIL

All you need is 1 cup freshly made pomegranate juice, 1 lime, 2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce and ½ cup ginger ale. Mix all the ingredients and enjoy!!

A diet high in salt can bring on the bloat, causing your body to retain water. Pomegranate juice contains magnesium and potassium to counteract this. Tabasco has capsaicin to increase urine flow and rid your body of excess salt.

ANTI-BLOAT BERRY AND CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE

To make this smoothie, you need 1 cup strawberries, 1 cup raspberries, 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips, 1 cup almond milk and 1 cup ice. Mix everything in a blender and your smoothie is ready!

Constipation is a common culprit that causes bloating. High-fiber berries aid constipation, and the caffeine in chocolate stimulates bowel movement. Difficulty digesting lactose in milk is also a contributor to bloating, so try almond milk as a lactose-free substitute.
