HONEY SUGAR SCRUB BENEFITS AND RECIPEThere are many scrubs available in the market but if you want to use a natural product to exfoliate your skin dead cells, then nothing can beat sugar. It is better than those salt granules and oats. There are plenty of benefits of using this scrub for this purpose. This recipe also doesn’t cost much.

Honey and sugar are the main ingredients of this recipe. Honey consists of 18 amino acids with antiseptic and antibiotic properties in it. It is also rich in vitamins and mineral and so if used, it can heal wounds and also moisturize your skin very well. Sugar has soothing properties.

Its coarse texture helps in exfoliation and buffing away all those dead cells on your skin. It helps greatly in giving you the natural glowing skin. There are many more ingredients that work as exfoliation ingredients such as Epsom salt, oats, baking soda, etc. but sugar has proven itself to be the best of all.

Now coming to the other ingredients, we are choosing an oil in this recipe in order to moisturize skin well. We know well that oils are great for skin. They provide natural glow to the skin. So, based on your skin, choose the one you like or suits you best. Mostly extra virgin olive oil or sweet almond oil are preferred but coconut oil isn’t in the least number. We are also using few drops of lemon juice as well which is well-known in lightening skin complexion. It helps in removing the sun tan from your skin. It also cleanses skin well and cures acne but make sure not to add too much of it. Just few drops will do the job. If you want to use any essential oil, choose the one you like and add a couple of drops of it. It is more than enough. However it is optional.

Ingredients:

  1. Honey
  2. Sugar – 2 to 3 tbsp
  3. Oil (Coconut, Olive, or Almond) – few drops
  4. Lemon juice – few drops
  5. Essential oil – few drops (optional)

Method:

  1. For this recipe we are using honey and sugar which are the main ingredients along with an oil and lemon juice.
  2. You can use oil based on your skin type. If you have dry skin, choose olive oil or coconut oil. If yours is combination or oily skin, go for almond oil.
  3. Now take a small bowl or a plate and add two table spoons of sugar or take as much as required.
  4. Add some honey based on the quantity of sugar.
  5. Add few drops of lemon juice to it and mix well. Do not add too much which can harm your skin. Just few drops will do the job.
  6. Choose any essential oil if you want. Each of them has many benefits. Add few drops of it which is completely optional.
  7. Mix them well. Wet your face with some lukewarm water and apply this scrub making your fingertips gently move in circular motion.
  8. Do this not more than a couple of minutes. Be sure to be gently and not harsh. If you want, leave it like a mask for 5 more minutes and then rinse well with lukewarm water followed by slightly cold water to close the open pores.
