We all love our hair, right? We wish to do everything possible to get a healthy, strong, shiny hair. Using the high end products for your hair, might give you a satisfaction of doing well for your hair, obviously, because you are spending a bomb on it! The question; however is, are you pampering your hair or punishing it?
It is a common belief that beautiful hair can be got by using the branded luxury products but the irony is that you are layering your hair with tons of chemicals. Your tresses may feel and look good but then it is never a permanent solution. The effects will fade eventually and it will soon make your hair dry, coarse and thin. Slowly the issues like dandruff, hair fall, split ends will crop up. Finally you will realize that your hair has lost its original charm too. That is why herbal remedies are a safe bet because it will do the required for your hair and that too without any side effects.
There are simple DIY herbal home remedies that can endow you the same effect as that of a costly hair product and that too without any side effects.
DIY herbal oil treatment: Take equal quantity of olive oil, coconut oil and 1 spoon of castor oil. Warm it up and then add few drops of rosemary essential oil. Then massage this oil into the scalp for good fifteen minutes. Wash the hair with cold water by using the herbal shampoo that’s given below.
- Aloe vera gel- 3 teaspoons
- Dried herbs like Rosemary, lavender etc- 2 tablespoon
- Liquid Castile soap- 4 ounces
- Distilled water- 4 ounces.
- Rosemary essential oil- 30 drops
Mix together the water and herbs and heat gently to make a strong tea. Let the mixture steep for at least 30 minutes. Now filter out the herbs and let the liquid cool. Transfer it into a bottle and add castile soap to it followed by essential oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera. Shake it all well and your herbal shampoo is ready.
DIY herbal hair Mask:
Amla powder and coconut oil prove to be an excellent hair mask. Just mix amla powder along with coconut oil for a hair mask and apply it on the scalp and hair. Leave it for 10 minutes and then wash it off.
DIY herbal conditioner:
Take a few hibiscus leaves, flowers and soak it in water. After some time, take it out and mash it all up. A nice thick fluid will start coming up, work on it more. You can grind it in mixer too. Finally filter out the flowers and use the thick liquid for a conditioner. Use this conditioner on your hair after shampoo, leave it on for few mins and rinse off. This makes the hair super soft and silky.
DIY vinegar rinse for shine:
Take 2 spoons of apple cider vinegar, mix it in a mug of green tea and rinse your hair with this water in your final hair rinse. It will impart a natural sheen to your hair.
