DIY TINTED LIP BALM with SPF

We take good care of our skin and ensure that it is well-protected from external elements. Sunscreen plays a vital role in protecting our skin from harmful sun rays but did you know that your lips too get sun burned? Lips too can show early signs of ageing/fine lines if it isn’t protected from sun. If you are looking out for a lip balm with SPF, below is a recipe:

DIY TINTED LIP BALM with SPF

BENEFITS:

Shea butter- Shea butter moisturizes lips, repairs damage and keeps it pink and soft.

Beeswax- Beeswax moisturizes lips and sets the final product.

Carrot seed oil- Carrot seed oil provides SPF of 30-40 UVB protection. Repairs chapped lips an keeps it moisturized.

Myrrh oil- Myrrh oil provides SPF of 30-40 UVB protection.

Things you need-

  • 2 tablespoons shea butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax melted
  • 10 drops carrot seed oil
  • 10 drops myrrh oil

DIY TINTED LIP BALM with SPFDirections-

In a bowl, add melted shea butter and beeswax. Quickly add in carrot seed oil and myrrh oil and stir.

Pour it in a tin or lip balm tube and allow it to settle for about an hour. You can also add in cranberry powder, rose or beetroot powder for a red tint.

Caution – patch test before use.
